Description
This anchor was forged in Chester, Pennsylvania, by the Baldt Anchor, Chain and Forge Corporation. The company has manufactured anchors and chains for ships since 1901, including this one for the Royal Canadian Navy.
Her Majesty's Canadian Ship Sackville is the last remaining World War II corvette. These small ships served in the North Atlantic escorting convoys, protecting them from German U-Boats. Today she is anchored in Halifax, Nova Scotia, beside the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic.
