Description
Every Labor Day weekend, hundreds of classic cars descend upon Paso Robles, California, and fill the park downtown. This chrome spoke wheel was found on a classic Cadillac.
The Cadillac logo was originally the family crest of Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, the man who founded the capitol of the American automobile, Detroit, Michigan. His story was that his lineage was tied to French royalty and the coat of arms was designed hundreds of years before America was discovered, but today it is widely believed that it was designed by Cadillac himself in an attempt at self promotion.
Cadillac was founded in 1902 and named after the founder of the city of Detroit. It quickly became one of America's premier luxury carmakers and was purchased by General Motors in 1909. In 1949 it was the first car to be awarded "Motor Trend Car of the Year."
