Description
In what could be a scene from an old Cowboy movie, the sandstone buttes of Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park rise from the Colorado Plateau.
Monument Valley is located on the border of Utah and Arizona.. Because it sits on Navajo tribal land, Monument Valley is a Navajo Tribal Park, which is the equivalent to a national park. It has been featured in many films set in the "old west," and is therefore what moviegoers around the world imagine when they think of the American West.
