Morro Bay is a waterfront community in San Luis Obispo County in central California. Morro Bay Harbor was created when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers built artificial breakwaters at the entrance to the natural bay in the 1940s. Today, the harbor is used by a small fishing fleet and recreational boaters.
