Description
A dragonfly appears to be getting friendly with a car antenna.
Dragonflies are found on every continent except Antarctica. Unlike the similar damselfly, dragonflies hold their wings out horizontally when they land. They are preditory, the nymphs feeding on freshwater invertebrates and even tadpoles and small fish. Adults capture insect prey in the air and drop the carcass after eating the interior. Most of a dragonfly's life is spent underwater in the larval stage. They remain nymphs for up to five years in the larger species, and as little as two months for smaller ones. Once they metamorphosize they live between a few weeks to six months.
