The Cadillac Automobile Company was founded in 1902 and named after Antoine Laumet de La Mothe, sieur de Cadillac, the French explorer who founded Detroit in 1701. It was acquired by General Motors in 1909 where it became the company's luxury division.
The historic Route 66 Motel in Barstow, California has existed since 1922. Located on the old Route 66, the motel features a collection of antique cars and other memorabilia from the glory days of America's Mother Road.
