The Chevrolet Corvette C6.R is a GT race car built for endurance racing by one of General Motors official racing teams, Pratt & Miller, and Chevrolet. Developed concurrently with the production C6, design elements from the racing version could be adapted to the Corvette Z06 road car.
The American Le Mans Series was a sports car racing series in the United States and Canada consisting of a series of endurance and sprint races. In 2014 the series became the United SportsCar Championship when it merged with the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series. The rules in the American Le Mans series were basically the same as the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Modified production sports cars and purpose-built closed-fendered race cars were driven by multiple drivers and all cars competed together simultaneously.
Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is a paved road racing track near Monterey, California It is used for both auto racing and motorcycle racing. The track is 2.2 miles long with eleven turns. The race track was built in 1957 and saw a major change in 1988 with the addition of two turns and a third of a mile of length.
