Description
The Unity Wall Mural covers the 1.6 mile Ogden Point breakwater in the harbor of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. It began in 2009 to honor the history and traditions of the Salish Nations. First Nation artists Butch Dick of the Songhees Nation and Darlene Gait of the Esquimalt Nation designed the mural to share the local indigenous people's culture with the world. Butch Dick created images of the sea and Darlene Gait's created the images of the land. Above all is the wolf, the symbol of family unity for both the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations.
