Description
Snakes of California Sea Lion Skulls are mounted on the wall of the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, California.
The sea lion skulls look down from their display high above the museum floor. Osteologists and marine biologists use the collection, the largest in the world, to study the health and life cycle of the California Sea Lion population. About 75% of the bones belong to adult males, the remainder are from smaller females or juveniles, except for a few unrelated skulls that Academy scientists have randomly dispersed throughout the display.
