Description
No. 1074 began it's long service life as car no. 321 in 1946 for the Twin City Rapid Transit Co. in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota. From there it found its way to Newark, NJ in 1953 then finally found its way to San Francisco where it spent 2004 to 2011 being restored for use on the Market Street Railway. Although this particular streetcar was never used in Toronto, it is painted in the colors of the Toronto Transit Commission to honor the city that boasted the largest fleet of PCC streetcars in North America. Along with No. 1074, San Francisco now operates one of the most diverse collections of vintage streetcars in the world, with up to twenty of them carrying passengers along the Embarcadero and Market Street every day.
