Description
This set of lanterns was shot in the ghost town of Bodie, California. Originally a full-color photo of a single blue lantern among four rust-brown ones hanging on a faded red wall, I removed all reds and greens, leaving only the one blue lantern in color. The blue lantern is left in it's original color without enhancement.
Bodie State Historic Park preserves the California ghost town of Bodie. Located near the Nevada border, Bodie began as a mining camp following the discovery of gold in 1859. It remained relatively small until 1876, when a profitable deposit of gold-bearing ore was discovered and transformed the town into a Wild West boomtown. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1961, and in 1962 it became Bodie State Historic Park. Today, Bodie is preserved in a state of arrested decay, with about 110 structures still standing. Interiors remain as they were left, many still containing goods and furnishings.

Terrific find and nice use of selective color. Congratulations on your tie for 1st place in the recent ABC Group - L Is For Lamp contest.
