Under the stars on a moonless night, a 40-foot long duck-billed dinosaur foraged the floodplains on what is now eastern Utah.
75 million years or so later in 2010, paleontologists from the Natural History Museum of Utah discovered Gryposaurus Monumentensis in what is now the Grand Staircase Escelante National Monument. It was a common and very successful herbivore, believed to walk mostly on four legs but able to stand on it's hind legs to reach for vegetation. Three-hundred teeth could grind down just about any of the region's plants. This reconstruction, made of original fossil material, stands again under the lights of the Natural History Museum of Utah,
A dinosaur skeleton is displayed prominently under bright, star-like lights in a museum setting. The intricate details of the bones are highlighted against a modern architectural backdrop.
I have been photographing the things I see for over thirty years. A resident of San Luis Obispo County, I'm lucky to have many excellent photo destinations within a few minutes' or hours' drive. Beyond the local area, I have traveled throughout California and the western United States, visited far away American destinations such as Chicago, New York, Florida, and Alaska, and international destinations in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. My photography varies from Architecture to Industrial Art to Nature to Wildlife and I'm sure you'll find something suitable for your home or office. Visit my blog
