Don't let the fancy name confuse you... a beach sheet is just a large beach towel.

Planning for the new San Jose City Hall began in 1996, just two years after the start of the infamous "Dot Com Bubble" that saw speculation in Silicon Valley's tech companies artificially inflate their values to unrealistic levels. By 2002 the dot com bubble had already burst, but even with a city budget shortfall of $30 million, construction finally started. It was the first time San Jose's government was based in downtown for over 50 years.
The freestanding rotunda is 110 feet tall. It was originally intended as the grand entrance to the new City Hall, but is now mostly used for special events and locked the rest of the time. The 18-story tower rises 285 feet and holds various city offices, including that of the mayor.
I have been photographing the things I see for over thirty years. A resident of San Luis Obispo County, I'm lucky to have many excellent photo destinations within a few minutes' or hours' drive. Beyond the local area, I have traveled throughout California and the western United States, visited far away American destinations such as Chicago, New York, Florida, and Alaska, and international destinations in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. My photography varies from Architecture to Industrial Art to Nature to Wildlife and I'm sure you'll find something suitable for your home or office. Visit my blog
