Description
A volunteer at the Estrella Warbirds Museum in Paso Robles shines this 1958 T-28B Trojan to keep it looking as it did half-century ago.
The T-28 Trojan was introduced in 1950 as a trainer aircraft for the United States Air Force and were produced until 1958. The "B" model was built for the Navy starting in 1952. Its Wright R-1820 engine provided 1,425 hp, up 625 hp from the original Air Force model. 489 of that model variant were built, and the Navy continued flying their two T-28 models up until 1984.
The Estrella Warbirds Museum is located at the Paso Robles Municipal Airport in northern San Luis Obispo County, California. The museum is home to over 30 airplanes, helicopters, and other flying machines, plus missiles, military vehicles, and various armaments.
