Surrounded by what looks like fire, a lone evergreen stands with the orange brush and leaves of the last of the fall's colors.
Buck Lake is a lake in the Buck Lake Wildlife Management Area in northern Vermont near the town of Woodbury. It is 275 acres, mostly forested with red and sugar maple, yellow birch, and beech. It is owned by the State of Vermont and managed by the Vermont Fish and Wildlife department.
