Description
The Piedras Blancas Motel was built in the 1950s north of San Simeon to serve travelers on California's Pacific Coast Highway. Once a 12 room motel and diner, the property was abandoned in 2005 and has fallen into disrepair. The California State Park System has plans to renovate the motel and add a a campground nearby, but as of April 2018 the property showed no sign of rehabilitation as evidenced by this close-up of the painted sign on the side of the building.
