Description
The wrong place at the wrong time or the right place at the right time? I guess it depends upon your point of view.
The Osprey's point of view can be as high as 130 feet in the air from where they can zero in on a fish. The salmon-rich Columbia River in September is a good place to look for them. 23,877 were counted at the Bonneville Lock and Dam the day this osprey made its catch.
Once they lock in on their prey, osprey will dive into the water feet-first. They use specialized talons to get a firm grip an unfortunate fish and carry it off to a high perch to consume.
