Modern design stands tall in the old lumber town of Redding, California. Sundial Bridge serves as a crossing over the Sacramento River, while also being one of the largest sundials in the world.

Designed by world renowned artist, architect, and engineer Santiago Calatrava, Sundial Bridge connects Turtle Bay Exploration Park with the McConnell Arboretum & Botanical Gardens across the Sacramento River. The suspension design was chosen to cross the river without any piers, allowing the river's salmon to spawn undisturbed in the water below.

Santiago Calatraya's Sundial Bridge is a cantilever spar cable-stayed bridge, with a single tower rising 217 feet into the air and a 710-foot glass deck crossing the river below. The bridge is oriented in a north/south direction with the mast being the gnomon of a sundial, giving the bridge it's name.
