Artist's Description
This is a detail photograph of the interior corrugated steel wall of a very large half-quonset-hut style building in rural California near Santa Maria. I artificially boosted the contrast to bring out the reflected colors of the soil (the top of the curve pointing to the earth) and the sky (the bottom of the curve reflecting the concrete foundation, which in turn reflected the blue sky.) Without the exaggerated contrast, the building appears to be a dull gray.
About Darin Volpe

I have been photographing the things I see for over thirty years. A resident of San Luis Obispo County, I'm lucky to have many excellent photo destinations within a few minutes' or hours' drive. Beyond the local area, I have traveled throughout California and the western United States, visited far away American destinations such as Chicago, New York, Florida, and Alaska, and international destinations in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. My photography varies from Architecture to Industrial Art to Nature to Wildlife and I'm sure you'll find something suitable for your home or office. Visit my blog

I thought the same thing, Cassondra. Darin, the graduated colors and lines draw the eye upward to that very interesting hole at the top. Mesmerizing! voted
