Description
Four trains? Three? How about only two?
Nope. The right answer is one. This BNSF intermodal freight train is on the world famous Tahachapi Loop, an engineering marvel that allows trains to climb almost 80 feet in a short distance. You can see a few cars near the back of this train in the distance, just before they turn into the tunnel. Upon leaving the tunnel, trains pass through the deep cut and circle left around a hill in the center of the loop. If the train is longer than 4,000 feet it will cross over itself as it passes above the tunnel before continuing its climb towards the town of Tehachapi.
