Description
The top of the face of Hubbard Glacier in the Wrangell St. Elias National Park, Alaska.
Hubbard Glacier is located in eastern Alaska, United States, and part of the Yukon Territory, Canada. It flows over 75 miles until it reaches its terminus where Wrangell St. Elias National Park meets Disenchantment Bay. It's the longest tidewater glacier (a glacier that flows to the ocean) in North America. At its face it rises 350 feet above the waterline, with 250 feet below the waterline. It was named for the first president of the National Geographic Society, Gardiner Hubbard.
