Artist's Description
Two jet airliners coming to and going from wherever your imagination might conjure meet in the skies above the Ryolite ghost town in the Nevada desert.
There are those who believe the trails behind these airplanes serve one or more of a host of nefarious purposes: weather modification, bio-weapon testing, population control, psychological manipulation, and more. To the more scientifically minded, they are simply the effect of hot jet exhaust mixing with the cold air 30,000 feet above the ground.
What can you learn by watching the sky above? If you're looking at contrails left behind by airplanes, you might get an hint as to the weather - and not because they're controlling it. A thin trail that doesn't stay means low humidity, a sign of fair weather. Thick trails that stay? You may want to get your umbrella and be ready for a storm.
