Description
Grand Teton National Park is located in northwestern Wyoming and consists of much of the valley of Jackson Hole and the Teton Range. The Snake River meanders south through the valley, and in the area of Schwacacher Landing it splits into a series of parallel streams that meet back up with the main river downstream. The Teton Range is one of the youngest mountain ranges in North America, less than nine-million years old, which explains the characteristic jaggedness of the peaks.
