Artist's Description

It's relatively quiet on the refuge - well, as quiet as a few thousand Ross's Geese can be as they waddle around honking in a tremendous flock. Suddenly and without warning, there is a thunderous sound as they simultaneously take to the air, the roar of beating wings reaches an almost deafening roar. The cloud of birds fills the sky and slowly circles overhead. For a few seconds the sky above you is nothing but geese, then they're off into the distance where they all come back down to the marsh and create a huge white patch in the distance.
