Artist's Description
Locomotives climbing the 2% grade of the Tehachapi Mountains don't crank out the smoke they used to.
In the continuing effort to reduce pollution, General Electric introduced the Evolution Series locomotives in 2005 to meet the EPA Tier 2 emission standards. This ES44C4 was built in February of 2013 and is one of almost 2,000 Evolution Series operated by the BNSF Railway.
