The Port of Benicia is located on the Carquinez Strait, accessible from the north San Francisco Bay. It's a small- to medium-sized port, primarily handling cargo ships carrying automobiles from overseas and tankers. The Union Pacific Railroad provides direct rail service into the terminal to pick up and move the cargo throughout the United States.
The Overseas Los Angles is a Veteran MT-46 class oil and chemical tanker with an overall length of 576 feet and a cargo capacity of 333,000 barrels. It was built in 2007 by Kvaerner Philadelphia Shipyard for Overseas Shipholding Group.
