Description
This photo was made in Joseph D. Grant County Park outside of San Jose, California. It is a full color print, mostly gray but with subtle browns.
Dipsacus, also known as teasel, are native to Europe, Asia, and northern Africa. They are an invasive species in the United States. The flowers are purple, dark pink, or lavender that form a head on the end of the stems. When the flowers die, the dried head remains with the seeds.
Grant Ranch County Park is the largest county park in Santa Clara County. It is located in the foothills of eastern Santa Clara Valley on the way to Mount Hamilton.
