On departing the harbor of Castries, St. Lucia, the giant cruise ships pass the runway of the George F.L Charles airport. Standing twelve decks above the sea gives passengers a view usually reserved for incoming pilots.

George F.L. Charles Airport is a small airport in Castries, Saint Lucia. It is mainly a cargo airport, but also handles about 400,000 passengers per year primarily from around the Caribbean.

I have been photographing the things I see for over thirty years. A resident of San Luis Obispo County, I'm lucky to have many excellent photo destinations within a few minutes' or hours' drive. Beyond the local area, I have traveled throughout California and the western United States, visited far away American destinations such as Chicago, New York, Florida, and Alaska, and international destinations in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
