Stairway to Heaven - Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa Canvas Print

Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa was founded in 1772 and was the fifth in a series of twenty-one California missions founded by Father Junipero Serra. The current structure was built from 1794 to 1819. The mission fell into disrepari after 1833 when Mexico, fearing Spanish influence in California because most of the missions remained loyal to the Roman Catholic Church in Spain, secularized the missions. It was returned to the Catholic Church in 1859 and improvements began in 1872 for the 100th anniversary of the Mission. A major restoration project began in 1933.

I have been photographing the things I see for over thirty years. A resident of San Luis Obispo County, I'm lucky to have many excellent photo destinations within a few minutes' or hours' drive.
