Description
A brown pelican makes its last rounds in search of food before the sun goes down.
The brown pelican is one of the most prominent birds found in the coastal areas of the southern and western United States. It is one of the only two pelican species which feeds by diving into the water and is the smallest of the eight pelican species, with a wingspan from six to eight feet. Like all pelicans, brown pelicans have a very large bill with a pouch on the bottom for training water when it scoops out prey.
Morro Bay is a town in California located halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Morro Bay State Park includes the Morro Bay State Park Museum of Natural History, Morro Rock Natural Preserve, the Heron Rookery Natural Preserve, the Morro Bay State Park Golf Course, and a campground and marina.
