Description
With fourteen cylinders able to generate 1,600 horsepower, the Wright R-2600 Twin Cyclone engine was the engine of choice for several important American aircraft.
Over 50,000 were built, going into such storied airplanes as the B-25 bomber and Pan American Airline's famous "Clipper" flying boats. They were manufactured by the Curtiss-Wright Corporation, a successor to the original company started by the Wright Brothers.
