Description
A white building is reflected on a nearby glass building in Chicago, Illinois.
International Style is a form of Modern Architecture most commonly using glass facades, steel for exterior support, and concrete for floors and interior supports, The designs are simple and functional, a change from earlier more ornate buildings, and has been criticized by many as inhuman, sterile, elitist, and just plain ugly.
The term "international style" came from an exhibition at the New York Museum of Modern Art in 1932 and was popular through the 1960s until the postmodern era began.
