Artist's Description
Travelers pass through Union Station in Los Angeles, California on a December day.
Union Station is the main passenger railway station in Los Angeles, and the largest railroad passenger terminal in the western United States. Combining several architectural styles including Dutch Colonial Revival, Mission Revival, and Art Deco, it opened in May of 1939. Union Station sserved trains from the Union Pacific, Santa Fe, and Southern Pacific railroads. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Today, over 60,000 passengers a day pass through the station as they travel on Amtrak, Metrolink, and Metro Rail subway and light rail lines.
About Darin Volpe

I have been photographing the things I see for over thirty years. A resident of San Luis Obispo County, I'm lucky to have many excellent photo destinations within a few minutes' or hours' drive. Beyond the local area, I have traveled throughout California and the western United States, visited far away American destinations such as Chicago, New York, Florida, and Alaska, and international destinations in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. My photography varies from Architecture to Industrial Art to Nature to Wildlife and I'm sure you'll find something suitable for your home or office. Visit my blog
