Description
This photo was taken on the easternmost part of West Quincy Street between S. Dearborn St. and S. State Street, with my back to the US Courthouse and facing South State Street. The smokestack is on the roof at 211 S. State Street.
The building on the left is the 21-story Consumers Building. Built in 1913. It was built by Jenney, Mundie and Jensen, a prominent architectural firm of the time. It was originally called the "State and Quincy Building" in the plans but was changed to The Consumers Building in 1913 due to a lease signed by The Consumers company. It's address is 220 S. State Street.
