Description
Chinese street musicians play traditional Chinese instruments in San Francisco's Chinatown.
The qinqin is a plucked, three stringed instrument often used in Chinese folk music. It's high frets keep the player's fingers from touching the body, which allows control over timbre and intonation beyond more familiar Western fretted instruments.
The erhu is a two-stringed instrument played by bow. It's history dates back over 1,000 years and is one of the most popular bowed string instruments in China.
