Description
The glass tower at One South Wacker as seen from across the Chicago River on West Monroe Street between the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Center towers.
The destruction caused by the Chicago Fire led to the largest building boom in the nation, and today the city is world renown for it's stunning architecture. The world's first skyscraper, the 10-story tall Home Insurance Building, was built in the city in 1884, and it is home to the second tallest building in the United States, the Willis (formerly Sears) Tower.
