Description
The James Lick Telescope has been in operation at the Lick Observatory since its installation in 1888. At the time it was the largest refracting telescope in the world, and over two-hundred years later it still ranks third in size. Among its other discoveries, this telescope is where astronomers discovered the first moon of Jupiter since Galileo almost three-hundred years earlier.
