Description
Mexican tile designs adorn the waiting room at the Santa Fe Depot in San Diego, California. The railway station, built in 1915, nearly saw its demise in 1972 when the Santa Fe Railroad planed to replace it with a pair of 12-story office buildings. Eventually the city agreed to redevelop the surrounding property in exchange for railroad's preservation of the depot.
