Description
An unusual sighting in the rocks just north of Cayucos, California. The fishing boat "Point Estero" ran aground on July 28th and was still waiting to be rescued as of November 18.
The boat is in the waters off of Estero Bluffs State Park, but since it's technically on the ocean side of "the coastline" the land the boat rests on is under the jurisdiction of the State Lands Commission - the body responsible for removing abandoned vessels but which has no funding to actually do so. And with an estimated $175,000 price tag for removing the boat, it's likely to remain a Cayucos landmark for some time to come.
