The sun lights up seeds not yet blown away by the wind on the tube-shaped clusters of flowers. Photographed at Santa Margarita Lake, in San Luis Obispo county, California.

Known as reedmace, bulrush, cumbungi, raupo, cattails, canine tails, swamp sausage, and my personal favorite - corn dog grass, these plants in the Typhaceae family can be found in wetlands throughout the world.
