Description
Hovering near the bright pink pools of nectar deep within the wells of each little flower, this feisty Rufous Humminbird has an afternnoon meal. Always on the lookout for a rival looking to steal his bounty, Rufous Humminbirds will relentlessly attack even the largest of hummingbirds that dare enter its territory. During their long migrations, Rufous Hummingbirds make a 3,900-mile clockwise loop of western North America circling from Mexico up the Pacific Coast to Washington state and British Columbia, then south along the Rocky Mountains to return to Mexico.
