Description
They're not pink and they're not lions, you don't put them on your feet, and they certainly don't want to date a young man half their age.
Panther, Mountain Lion, Puma, and Cougar are all common names for the same animal - Puma concolor. In fact, mountain lions are listed in dictionaries under more names than any other animal in the world - probably due to their extensive range. At one time they could be found anywhere in America between the Yukon Territory in Canada and the southern tip of Argentina. Today they are primarily found in western Canada and the United States (with a small population of critically endangered Florida Panthers) and into Mexico, through Central America, and most of South America.
This mountain lion is a resident of The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens in Palm Desert, California.
