Description
A Clark's Grebe holds a feather in her beak. Once her eggs hatch she will feed small feathers to her hatchlings. It is believed they will protect the bird's digestive tract by forming a block to the small intestines and forcing larger fish bone fragments to remain in the stomach until they are digested enough to pass through the feathers.
